Golden Birthday

Two days ago I celebrated my golden birthday. While it was a rainy day, the second in a row, it was a wonderful day to be had. I got out of the house early so I could stop and pick up donuts and cupcakes for my coworkers, got a free latte using a punch card that I had filled up, and was able to catch up on some work that had been put off due to how crazy things have been lately. I also had my first chiropractic adjustment since Dan was born. While her techniques are very gentle, the effects are incredible! I'm so glad that I decided to bite the bullet and follow my chiropractor out to Brookfield. Yes, it's a much longer drive than before, but when you have a good healthcare team, you don't want to let go. If you are in need of a good chiropractor, Dr. Diane Baehr is incredible! You can find the info about her and the company she works for HERE.

The best part of all was spending the evening with Jason and Dan. We went out to dinner at a newer restaurant in West Bend, the West Bend Tap & Tavern. It was our second time going there within a week! Their deviled eggs are to die for! I gave Dan part of the egg white to try. He didn't seem to like them. I'm thinking it was more of a texture thing rather than taste as he's used to eating purees right now. I also gave him some of the salmon that I ordered. He played with that. Oh well, he'll get the hang of feeding himself food sooner or later.

This was taken in October when Dan was 1 month old
One thing really stuck out to me this year over years past. Not only was it my birthday, but it was also Mom's birthday as well. Not so much as the day she was born, but the day that she was born a mother. Ever since Dad passed away, and even more so since Dan was born, I have become such a sap when it comes to family. Come to think of it, it was also my Grandma Solarz' birthday as well, as I am her first grandchild. So while it is nice to get things for birthdays and holidays, the best gift of all is time with family.
